In this hectic world of ours, it's easy to spend our days lost in planning of anxiety about the future - or with pleasant and/or unpleasant thoughts & feelings about the events of the past - totally missing most of the present moment of our lives!

In this daylong retreat, we will explore mindfulness techniques that help us stay in the present moment with clarity and compassion.

We will explore the power of being present, along with strategies for letting go of habitual emotional responses to and mental fixation on future or past events. We will also explore strengthening our ability to appreciate each moment as it arises in our sensory perception of what we See, Hear, and Feel - and all with some light humor.

Join us for this day of support and exploration.

...; STEPHANIE NASH is a Mindfulness Coach and Integrative Counselor who has been teaching mindfulness for 18 years. She had been trained in the Unified Mindfulness system of Shinzen Young, but has also worked with other meditation methodologies & teachers.

Ms. Nash designed & taught a mindfulness training program (using Shinzen’s system) for a Harvard Medical School brain study where she taught first time meditators the techniques that adepts (including herself) used for the first part of the study when their brains were studied. Her guided meditations are available on two apps - the Insight Timer & (soon-to-be-released) Brightmind (which features Shinzen’s Unified Mindfulness system)-  in addition to audio and video teachings offered on her website: BLOG: MindfulnessArts.org - and she has two YouTube channels: one featuring her teachings as well as interviews with other teachers: YOUTUBE: Steph Nash Meditation, and one featuring YOUTUBE: Interviews with Shinzen Young and his teachings.

As a speaker, Stephanie presents mindfulness to professional, educational, corporate and health organizations, in addition to her “Stress Reduction & Well- Being” presentations which also incorporate all her work with Healing Body Language (that she developed and teaches at UCLArts & Healing.) Stephanie was also a guest expert on a Deepak Chopra show where she taught her unique version of Laughing Meditation.

Privately, Ms. Nash works with executives, athletes, performers, artists, and professionals helping them use mindfulness to enhance their productivity, creativity and performance. She also helps individuals use mindfulness to deal with challenges like physical pain, emotional trauma, compulsive eating, and stress – as well as helping meditators enhance and deepen their spiritual practice. Through her non-profit, Mindfulness Arts, Stephanie provides meditation to the community, and with Carol Houst, she has founded another non-profit, Not Your Ordinary Mindfulness, which offers monthly day-long retreats in Santa Monica dedicated to the Unifed Mindfulness system developed by Shinzen Young. Her soon-to-be-completed website, StephanieNashCoaching, will be a portal to all information about the coaching and speaking that Stephanie offers.

Stephanie has a BA from Duke University (in psychology), and an MFA from Yale University (the Yale School of Drama.)
